Open source

Built in the open, under Apache-2.0

The code, the design documents, the tracker and the end-to-end tests are all public. You can read why a decision was made before you read the code that implements it.

Licence

Procera's source code is licensed under the Apache License 2.0, with a NOTICE file. You can use, modify and run it, including commercially. Dependencies are limited to permissive licences, checked in CI by a licence gate.

The Procera name, logo and brand assets are trademarks of CasualOffice and are not covered by the Apache licence. Governance ยง7 explains what you can do with them.

Contributing

Contributions are welcome, from people and from AI-assisted workflows, under the same rules:

  • Design first. Behaviour, data, API, security and UX changes update the design documents before or with the code.
  • Tests with every feature: unit, integration against real PostgreSQL, and an end-to-end scenario.
  • Small commits in Conventional Commits style with a DCO sign-off (git commit -s).
  • Honest claims: "supports" or "-ready", never "compliant" or "certified".

Read CONTRIBUTING.md, the binding engineering rules and the Code of Conduct.
